Escape the crowds and experience the beauty of Sligo at its most peaceful with the Dawn Patrol Paddle on Lough Gill. This guided sunrise stand up paddleboarding adventure offers a unique opportunity to explore one of Ireland's most picturesque lakes during the quietest and most magical time of day.
Launching just before sunrise, you'll glide across glass-like water as the first rays of light illuminate the surrounding forests, islands and rolling hills. The stillness of the early morning creates the perfect setting for relaxation, reflection and unforgettable scenery, while birdsong and gentle mist add to the tranquil atmosphere.
Before heading onto the water, your qualified instructor will provide a full safety briefing and an introduction to stand up paddleboarding, making the experience suitable for beginners as well as more experienced paddlers. With calm morning conditions, most first-time participants quickly gain confidence and can simply enjoy the journey.
Midway through the paddle, you'll stop on the lake to soak up the sunrise, take photographs and appreciate the peaceful surroundings before making your way back to shore.
